I know its late to blog about Vellvette October bag. The parcel came in a big carton but the contents did not surprise me this me.
I was rather unhappy to see the “blue” bag which looks like a toiletry kit unlike the fuchsia, black or red bag which they sent earlier.

The contents inside the bag:
1. Vantiv Moisturizing Shampoo & Refreshing Lemon Shower Gel
2. Brocato Actives Hair Infusion Serum
3. Florelle Wet & Dry Blush – Marmorized

Vantiv Shower and Bath Gel does not have a good fragrance and smell like a toiler cleaner. It is an Indian brand unlike Vellvette promised to send the international brands. It is a full size product and cost Rs 214 for 180ml. Vantiva Shampoo is a full size product Rs 187 for 250ml. I would prefer lesser quantity of a great quality than such full size cheap products.

The blush is a combination of blue and pink which I did not like personally. Would you prefer Blue colored cheek?

I had renewed 3 month subscription from Oct-Dec but I am disappointed to see this month’s bag. I have to wait and watch what’s in Nov bag.

Dasara begins today and most of us celebrate by arranging the dolls till the last day of Dasara, which is Vijaya Dashami (Vijaya means Success and Dashami is tenth day). I was looking at the photos of the past two years. I did not want to the miss the grand festival and celebrated, by arranging the souvenirs I bought in Melbourne's Victoria Market.
The article on Souvenir Dasara was published on Club Mahindra website here: http://www.clubmahindrablog.com/a-dasara-in-melbourne
In the traditional Dasara dolls arrangement, the wooden couple doll is placed at the top, above all the other dolls. I bought an aboriginal wooden couple and placed it above all the other dolls. The painted masks, the peacock, turtle, elephants, fishes made out of glass, Holland's kissing couple and bell formed my Dasara 2012 dolls collection. They now are in my showcase at home in Bangalore.![]() |

Romancing His English Rose
Lady Lancaster
Garden Society
Book
Two
Catherine
Hemmerling
Genre: Historical
Romance
Publisher: Entangled
Publishing.
Date of
Publication: 9-9-13
ASIN: B00EMTDL4C
Number of pages: 174
Book Description:
Rose Warren and Simon
Trumbull may have been betrothed since birth, but that doesn't mean they have
to like each other. Rose is sure the notorious playboy Simon will never
willingly settle down, and Simon, well... he agrees. Never one to be forced
into anything, he'd rather drink and gamble with his mates than spend time with
the bookish, bespectacled Rose.
When the two are thrown together to investigate a potential poisoning mystery, neither expects the sparks that fly. Simon discovers that Rose is, in face, a brilliant sleuth and - even better - hides a delectable body beneath her flowing skirts. Suddenly, falling into bed may be the best idea either has heard, but can Simon convince Rose his romancing is forever?
My review:
The book is a juicy one and you cannot keep it down until you finish it. I liked the pace which the author has written and the way the story starts off. Rose would call Simon "Mine" instead of addressing him by name.
This is second book in series and I did not find any difficulty reading this book though I haven't read the first one. I would appreciate both mystery and romance put together in a book.
Verdict: 4/5
About
the Author:
Catherine Hemmerling has
been a technical writer in the software industry for nearly twenty years and
has published many user manuals and technical documentation in that time. She
has always had a love of writing fiction but has never pursued publication in
that genre until now.
Hopefully it is the
beginning of a long new journey with Lady Lancaster and the Garden Society
girls. Certainly historical romance (especially the scandalous kind) is more
fun than writing technical documents!
This author happily
resides in Tehachapi , California
(near Bakersfield
- home of her Alma-mater!) with her family.
Catherine writes for
Entangled Publishing's Scandalous historical line and is thrilled to be part of
their family of writers!

Title: Never Mind Yaar
Author: K. Mathur
Publisher: Southpac Publishers Limited
Pages: 220
Price: Rs 350 [though no price mentioned on the book]
Blurb:
The title is an attitude - our tendency to feel defeated by the scale and nature of certain problems. Rather than meet them head on, we circumvent them with a sigh and a consoling “never mind, yaar”.
When long time friends Binaifer Desai and Louella D’Costa meet Shalini Dayal at Gyan Shakti College, a true friendship that transcends cultural and religious backgrounds is born. Louella is a Christian, Binaifer, a Parsi and Shalini, a Hindu.
The novel’s main plotline surrounds Shalini who has fallen for an impetuous student activist, Bhagu. Where does his desire to help the less fortunate lead him? The challenges are many - Shalini’s tradition bound family, the couple’s youth and inexperience and the travails of life in Mumbai, a city the girls love but know, is fraught with communal tension.
My review:
I received a copy of this book for review. The cover page of the book has a picture of Gyan Shakti College along with three girls seated at a table. The story is set around three friends, Louella, Binaifer and Shanlini who meet on the day one of the college and soon they become inseparable and share each and everything and is set in 1990s in Mumbai. How excited Lou becomes when her parents gift her a moped, just reminds of the college days. The girls also crib about the quality of food at canteen.
Shalini's grandmother whom she calls Mem seems to be a godmother to their family. No one would dare to cross her words or dare to speak against her. Shalini falls in love with Bhagu is scared to tell her parents. Meanwhile, Mem searches for suitable proposal for Shalini. Would Shalini agree to marry Mem's choice or would she be brave enough to elope with Bhagu who has different background. Later on the story has the political and communal violence. But the author does not explain anything in the present condition.
I did not feel that the story of the book connects to title "Never Mind Yaar" anyway. The story seems to be boring and the reader would lose interest reading the first 100 pages. The narration could have been much better with the characters. I was struggling to complete the book after 100 pages. However, the snippets on Bandra, Zorastrians, Bhabhuti nayi are interesting read.
I feel the book is over pricey for what it provides to the readers.
Verdict: 2/5

Author: Lisa Renee Jones
Genre: Adult Romance
Publisher: Gallery Books

September 10, 2013
ISBN:
1476727228

Number of pages:
320 pages
Book Description:
You've discovered Rebecca's secrets. You've discovered Sara's secrets. Now Sara will discover "his" deepest, darkest secrets...but will those secrets bind them together--or tear them apart?
My take on the book:
I have not read the first two books of the Inside Out series but found this book to be very interesting and you cannot keep the book down until finishing it. The author has written the book in the first person narration i.e. the lady in the lead, Sara, narrates the story, how she is so attracted the Chris and is willing to do anything for me though at times she feels he does not love her. The author has maintained the pace and keeps the reader busy as the story progresses.
My rating: 4/5

Book Title: The House
Author: Sebastiana Randone
Genre: Adult fairy tale,
regency romance, past-life romance, paranormal/fantasy, time-travel
ISBN: 978-1-4836-1371-0
ASIN: B00DAMPQ8Q
Number of pages: 148
Word Count: 50,000
The House is the tale of
a woman, who is so absorbed with historical novels that her own reality ceases to offer any
hope of romance and beauty.
One day this dreamy
idealist finds herself in a mysterious forest. How she arrived there is
unknown. She encounters a ramshackle house, wherein magical rooms that
transport to parallel worlds lay in wait.
She is transported to historical England, where she interacts with a
collection of character's whose dysfunctional lives become apparent
immediately.
The first tribulation
involves a nefarious lord, an archetypal embodiment of the monstrous creatures
that often haunt fairy tales. The ramification of this confrontation sets the
tone for the narrative.
Before long, the folly
of disdaining her mundane reality is realized, and she desires desperately to
return to her former predictable life.
A hidden portal finally
enables escape from the austere Georgian dwelling. She is spirited back to the
enigmatic house, where a journey to Regency London ensues. A large cast of
eccentric identities present themselves.
One day a handsome,
despondent poet arrives, following a period in Florence. His introduction to
the time traveler offers promise of restoration and love. But upon the face of
it, and much to his chagrin, this union cannot be consummated. There are a few
more obstacles ahead before her destiny in this strange adventure is made
apparent. In the end a past life connection starts to reveal itself. And like all good fairy tales, the ending is
pleasing, even though the means of getting there are dark and at times,
sinister.
About
the Author:
Sebastiana Randone lives
in Melbourne, Australia, and is from a dance background.
From an early age,
Sebastiana developed a passion for reading, and from that moment has never been
without a book.
The desire to write ‘one
day’ had been pursuing for a long while. Finally that goal was realized with
the debut release of “The House”; an adult fairy tale set in the Regency era.
Sebastiana is presently
writing her second book; a paranormal romance novel based in New York late
1980’s.
Title: Room of Tears
Author: Linda Merlino
Pages: 160
The author narrates the story of Diane O'Connor in the year 2041, forty years after 9/11 attack, in conversation with Father Antonio Ortiz. When I started reading the chapter 1 of the book, I thought it has something to do with the supernatural or paranormal activities. Diane invites the Father home and hands over her diary written with pain and requests him to read. The Father remembers his journey of becoming a priest and his granny who motivated him. I liked the flow of the story and the theme on which Linda has written.
To the world, it appears that thousands of people lost their lives on 9/11 but this one incident changed Diane's life and her family.
Author Bio:
The author has a fascination with
heroes and writes her fiction to honor ordinary men and women who react
unselfishly in extraordinary circumstances. She extends her gratitude to
all who keep us safe and free.
Her hometown is outside of Boston . She lived
for many years in New York City and more
recently calls Connecticut
her home.

As a child at school, I was in love with geography. Not that I liked memorizing the latitudes and longitudes, I would dream of landing into the plane while the teacher taught the lesson. Given a chance to visit Himalayas or Antarctica, I would chose the latter to travel along with my family as you need a human company, somebody I can share my excitement, in the lonely continent. I would come home and see this place, full of "white", in my Atlas. When I asked my father why it was all white and no green like Amazon or brown like deserts, he would reply, "Its all snow, there is no human vegetation, only penguins live there. Its dead cold." This would cheer me to dream of visiting Antarctica and see the home for penguins.
One can travel to Antarctica by flight or cruise. I would chose the cruise one way as in the titanic hoping that it wouldn't sink midway and flight the other way or vis-a-vis.
On reaching the shores of Antarctica, it is bliss to watch the sunrise and later walk on the glacier hand in hand with the loved ones, until my legs ache. It would be hard to tolerate the shrill weather and eyes getting adjusted but it is a lifetime experience seeing all "white" and playing with the snowballs with no humans around. I shall be without words to appreciate the serene beauty of it which god has created.
I would wait till the evening to see the penguin parade slowly from the shore to their borrows, flapping their feathers(?) or hands(?) and holding the fish in their beak. What a lovely sight that is, If only penguins would "shake hand" with me! Anyone would be as merry as watching the movie "Happy Feet".
When the sun is up in the sky, we shall ski down the snow. The only adventure which we can try out. ;)
When it is the time to get back home, I would miss bringing back souvenirs, key chains or postcards like I do every time I trip. This will be the only trip filled with memories and photographs.
I would be happy if you can fund a little for this trip. :)

Salaam sir, he saluted reluctantly as his boss's car entered the huge gate at the first day of his job.
He remembered the days of glory when he drove big cars and others welcomed him with a Namaste. A signature, the bond of surety he made, trusting a friend was the lesson of his lifetime.
