Adoni Mangarayana Gudi

20th Dec 2018 It was 4:30 in the afternoon, aunt and mom decided to visit the famous Mangarayana Gudi in Adoni, whose main deity is Lord Hanuman, the protector against evils. After umpteen visits to Adoni, it was the first time I heard of Mangarayana Gudi temple and hence my first visit.

The Hanuman idol is less than 3 feet tall, whose main deity is Lord Hanuman, who approximately is 3 feet tall. The temple is an ancient one, whose custodian now is Mantralayam Raghavendra Swamy Mutt. The temple is serene, clean and well-maintained. One could sit down on the stone floor and meditate or chant the Lord's name undisturbed. As you circle the deity within the temple compound, you find stupendous paintings of Madhwa Gurus starting Madhwacharya, Puradara Dasaru, Vijaya Dasaru, Kanaka Dasaru, Gopala Dasaru, Jagannatha Dasaru, Sripada Rajaru, Vadirajaru, Bhootharajaru and Vyasaraya.
