I completed reading the first book of this year, Real Life Organizing by Cassandra Aarssen, I purchased on Amazon Kindle store. This book has been the need of the hour considering the fact that I have accumulated many household articles, cosmetics, books, many items over time and I don't recollect that, I have them at home.
I work on multiple personal projects and have accumulated lot of items over time. I regularly clean up the house and sell the ones that I no longer use, donate and even trash. Sometimes, I waste time searching for the items I use everyday, just don't ask how disorganise! In this book, the author, Cassandra gives excellent tips and tricks to maintain not only a clutter free home but also organise the stuff right from paperwork, kitchen, clothes, medicines, toys etc.
I started applying the methods as I read through the book and it works wonderfully. I started organising all the items in a transparent container for each project I work and no longer waste time searching for the same set of items the next day. Cassandra emphasises on labelling the containers and spending at least 15-20 minutes everyday at the same time, to achieve a well organised and clutter free home. I love the concept of letting go of one thing before you buy another. This works very well for most of us and we wouldn't accumulate the unwanted stuff.
The book has beautiful pictures and gives an idea on how and where to start organising. Cassandra has also included planners for daily, weekly and monthly tasks, that I found helpful. One can print these and start ticking off the checklist to begin with. Our aim should be to create a beautiful, clutter free and functional home and this book provides all the details to meet this goal.
I enjoyed reading this book and see the great results at home. I highly recommend you read this book if you're looking for a well organised home. The author blogs at https://clutterbug.me/ and has posted many DIY ideas that I found helpful.
